Meta has launched a new AI model called Muse Spark. The company says it is the first model from its new Meta Superintelligence Labs team, and it is built mainly for Meta’s own products.
Right now, Muse Spark powers the Meta AI app and the Meta AI website. Meta also says it will roll out in the coming weeks to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and its AI glasses.
Meta says Muse Spark is made to handle both quick answers and deeper thinking. In Meta AI, users can switch between “Instant” and “Thinking” modes depending on the task.
One big feature of Muse Spark is multimodal support. This means the model can understand both text and images, so users can ask questions about photos, products, and real-world objects.
Meta says the model can also help with more complex topics like science, math, and health. The company says it worked with physicians to make the health responses more useful.
Another interesting part is that Muse Spark can support visual coding. Meta says people can use it to create simple websites, dashboards, and even mini-games from a prompt.
Meta is also linking Muse Spark with shopping and discovery. The company says it can help users find style ideas, room ideas, product suggestions, and trending context from posts and communities across its apps.
Outside Meta, the launch is being seen as a major move in the AI race. Reuters reported that Meta is trying to catch up with rivals after Llama 4 did not meet expectations, while the new model is meant to bring Meta back into the front line of AI competition.
Reports also say Muse Spark has some strong points, but it is not perfect yet. Reuters said it performs well in some language and visual tasks, but still lags in coding and abstract reasoning compared with some rivals.
For users, the main idea is simple. Muse Spark is Meta’s attempt to make Meta AI faster, smarter, and more useful in daily life, especially inside the apps people already use every day.
